Treatment Spotlight: Brow Lamination

WHAT IS BROW LAMINATION?

Brow lamination is similar to a straightening perm for your eyebrow. It is a way of enhancing what brows you already have by manipulating the hairs with chemicals. The treatment is often paired with design, shaping & tint for a more even, enhanced look. The service leaves brows with a semi-permanent lifted look. Whether you have thin, thick, or over plucked eyebrows, brow laminating is a great solution to give you a fuller more even brow look. Brow lamination is great for those with gaps or uneven brow hair, those who would like a fuller look, or anyone who has trouble taming their brows.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR BROW LAMINATION?

  • Anyone looking to improve the overall look of their brow

  • Clients with sparse brows or gaps, desiring a fuller, more even look

  • Clients who are growing out their brows

  • Clients looking for another option than permanent makeup or microblading

  • Clients with unruly, coarse, or curly brows

  • Clients with stubborn natural hair growth patterns

EXPERIENCE:

Consultation: Your brow technician will perform a full consultation with you to discover your desired brow style & to assess the health of your brow hair..

Step one: After cleansing the brows, your technician will fix brows in an even, desired shape.

Step two: A relaxing solution is applied to the brows which creates a chemical process that breaks down the bonds in each hair, allowing them to be manipulated into a new shape. Solution is left on the brows for a predetermined time depending on the condition of the hair.

Step three: A neutralizing solution is applied to set the brows in their desired new position. Solution is left on the brows for a predetermined time depending on the condition of the hair.

Step four: Optional Tinting. Brows can be tinted to add definition and color to the brows, and to enhance the look of a fuller, more even brow.

Step five: A specially developed keratin brow serum is applied to the brows to hydrate and condition the hair.

Step six: The brows are brushed into their desired position. This position is adjustable depending on the final look you would like to achieve. Brows can be brushed up or brushed into a more natural horizontal growth shape. Usually, brows are left in a more elevated position for the first 24-48 hours, to encourage stronger lifting movement. Following that time, brow shape will naturally soften into a more relaxed position.

NUMBER & FREQUENCY OF TREATMENTS:

A brow lamination will generally last about 6-8 weeks, depending on aftercare. Be sure to follow the “Don’ts” mentioned below, especially in the first 48 hours following your treatment to help insure hair health & lamination longevity. After the first 48 hours following your treatment, you can apply our recommended hydrating treaetment and Revitabrow serum to your brows daily. We also recommend brushing your brows into position following a shower, or anytime they get out of place, to help keep their new shape.

Four weeks following your treatment, we highly recommend our Brow Refresher service in order to better maintain the health & overall look of your brow, over a longer period of time.

POST-TREATMENT CARE:

BROW LAMINATION “DON’TS” IN THE FIRST 48 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT:

  • Don’t go into a sauna or subject brows to steam, perspiration/sweat or any moist heat

  • Don’t get your eyebrows wet (avoid the shower & bath)

  • Don’t use oil based products

  • Don’t apply heavy creams, makeup, or makeup remover to your brows

  • Don’t sleep directly on your brows (we know, easier said than done for stomach & side sleepers!)

Similar to a lash lift or hair perm, keeping your brows dry for the first 48 hours following your lamination treatment is VERY important. During the lamination process, we use chemicals to relax and shape your brows. If you get your eyebrows wet too soon after treatment, your brows do not have a chance to set with their new shape, which can result in a loss of permanency or wavy hairs.
